The GMD® GmbH has implemented an energy-autonomous, AI-supported monitoring system for the monitoring of alpine drinking water supply in collaboration with the German Alpine Club (DAV) at the New Prague Lodge (2,796 m). The system collects spring discharge, water level, and water consumption in real-time and reliably transmits the measurement data to the GeoSenseAI® WEBGIS4D platform. This allows for the early detection of water shortages, optimization of lodge operations, and informed decisions for sustainable water management under the challenges of climate change. The pilot project demonstrates how modern IoT sensors and artificial intelligence can sustainably improve supply security in high alpine regions.
